Alaska Cruise Day 1...

Our trip started off early Saturday morning with our drive to the airport. We made it in great time and never felt rushed which was very nice and relaxing.  Everything went smooth up until we started to board the plane and mom figured she ought to use the restroom before boarding.  On the way to the bathroom she slipped and fell in an area that they had just mopped but had not put a wet sign up.  She split open her finger, bruised up her hip, and scraped up her knee pretty badly.  She was in a lot of pain and was worried about the trip because she didn't want to be in more pain than usual.  While on the plane our flight attendant was awesome.  He got a bag of ice for my mom and took very good care of her as well as the kids.  He was so sweet with the kids and made sure that they stayed happy the entire flight by bringing them their drinks first and snacks.
Seattle is one of my favorite places to fly into.  We flew right by Mt. Rainier and over the city which are some pretty views.  After getting our luggage the fun began.  We waited outside the airport while dad went to rent a van.  After sitting around for an hour or so dad came by with a van.  We loaded up all of the luggage which took up the entire van.  My dad then drove the luggage to the ship while the rest of us rode the train into town.  The train ride was a 45 minute scenic ride of the city.  It was very relaxing and fun.  While on the train Cameron realized he had forgotten to pack a tie.  The train dropped us off in the mall so we went into Macy's and found a tie.  Meanwhile dad was trying to find out where we were so that he could pick us up, but no one had service because we were underground.  Dad finally was able to get a hold of me and we realized we had to hurry up to street level because he was almost there on the one way street and he didn't want to have to do another circle around.  We all packed into the van with the kids on our laps and Cecelia sitting in the isle. We drove to port and realized we didn't have time for dad to return the vehicle and then ride the train into town and find transportation to the port.  After a few phone calls and an extension on the rental he parked the car in an LDS Church parking lot avoiding the $200 parking at port.  The church was still quite a walk from the ship so we decided to all board the ship.  Still worried about dad we all gathered in our safety area for the safety drill.  While we were in there dad finally made it on board and about 10 minutes later our ship, the Star Princess left the port.
Our first day on board we settled into our little rooms, swam, ate, and explored the ship.

Right from Payton's mouth, "Baby your a song, you make me wanna role my windows down and CRUISE!"
