Dentist and Rich Family Party...

Last Wednesday Connor had his first dentist appointment.  The dentist and hygienist were stunned with how well he did.  He sat there and did everything like they asked and handled it like a champ.  I have been so impressed with our dentist and his hygienists.  They have been so kind and are awesome with the kids.  One of the hygienists played with the kids while I was getting my work done.  She made the visit for sure!  This was my first dentist visit in over 7 years!! The dentist kept complimenting me on how well my teeth look and said that once I get my sealants taken care of that he will just need to see me every two years!  Today Nic goes and it has been about 10 years since he was last seen.  Hopefully everything goes well for him as well!

On Saturday we had a Rich family party with all of the extended family.  There were only 4 families missing out of the entire family which is pretty impressive.  We had a yummy pot luck lunch, then had fun with the train and making and launching rockets.  Nic is going to make a rocket launcher now for us to take to family parties and to enjoy on the compound.

Moab...

This last weekend the kids and I went with my parents down to Moab to Arches National Park.  It was pretty hot.  Each day was around 93 degrees and then add the heat from the rocks on to that! None the less we had fun.  I was glad I was able to go, though we missed Nic I enjoyed my time.
We left Tuesday around 5:00 pm and made camp that night in Green River.  We faced a few challenges with the tent trailer.  One of the pull out beds broke off the track which made it completely unusable.  While pulling it out we ripped off the sink and the power switch for the electricity.  Luckily it wasn't the main switch so we still had the pump to run the water.
That morning we packed up and made it to Goose Island where we camped the rest of the week.  We couldn't have planned a better time to arrive.  We got there right when a guy was leaving the best spot in camp with trees and away from the very full, fast moving, Colorado River.
After the worst dirt road I have ever been on (It was so bad that it shook screws off the fenders of the durango) we made it to the trail head of Tower Arch.  We were back and forth on whether or not we should do this hike because it was the middle of the day and it was 4 mile hike.  The kids insisted on going so we thought lets just see how far we get.  They of course were awesome and made it all the way.  Hikes are so much better when you have a destination to get to at the end.  This hike was a fun follow the carens, climb the rocks, slide on your bum, trek through the sand dune, amazing view and arch hike!

A true camping trip includes a game of scrabble lit by a propane lantern.

Our camp was full of lizards the kids and I had fun catching them.  But this was the coolest one we saw on our way to Delicate Arch.

Delicate Arch. Another big hike that the kids did amazing on. What a beautiful view!!

The kids' favorite arch was Sand Dune Arch.  And that's because it was in the shade and had sand to play in.  My parents were prepared for this one and brought the sand toys on this little hike.  We spent a few hours relaxing and playing in the sand.

Double Arch...
Amazing view from Double Arch.  Just wish I would have scouted it out before taking the kids up it.  It was about a 40 foot drop off on the other side.  I panicked and yelled at Payton for even breathing up there.  I was terrified!!!

Crazy kids.  Whatever Payton does, Connor does as well.
