Halloween festivities..

Monday night we carved pumpkins with the Field family at our home.  It was so fun being able to carve our very own home grown pumpkins.

I saw on pinterest where they carved pumpkins with a drill so I gave it a try this year.  Connor was very pleased with his dinosaur pumpkin.  And Payton is sure excited about her Hello Kitty Pumpkin.  Since Nic's pumpkin was still quite green he figured he ought to go with the Hulk, or "Hoke" as Connor would say.
Tuesday Payton and Weston came out of preschool with these cute little spider hats.  Don't they look so cute...
That afternoon was the 6th grade carnival at the school.  The kids loved all the games and prizes.
Their favorite prize were these little guys.
Say hello to Cubby, and Goldy who surprisingly have stayed alive for more than 24 hours.

It's Fall Y'all...

Payton finished up soccer and enjoyed every bit of it.  She has told me several times already how much she misses it.  Though it's a ways a way she is excited to start back up in the Spring.
While Aaron and Tawna were gone last week we spent a lot of time in the hot tob just relaxing!
Playing in the leaves is a fall must do activity!

On Wednesday night I was able to go pick Carlin up from the airport and spend the morning and afternoon with her on Thursday!!
Of course we had to do a craft..

Saturday was my family's Halloween party that Maddie throws for us.  This time we decided to dress up!
 Aren't my parents the cutest..
Skyler and Maddie as Sheldon and Amy from Big Bang Theory..
Nic and I as a quick Richard Simmons, and The Prancercise lady... Isn't Nic a good sport. If I can get him to dress up on Halloween I will make him a better Richard Simmons.
And the cutest pirates! Payton as a pirate princess and Connor as Jake from Jake and The Neverland Pirates.

Sunday was the Richs' Halloween party..

We have been having beautiful weather but today the storm is rolling in.  I went on a little walk outside to get some last pictures of the beautiful leaves before they blow away.

A Little Make Over...

Nic has been wanting to move the TV up front for awhile because whenever anyone comes over for movie nights we're trying find places to put people. So the other day Nic and I found some more potential for a dresser we had in our bedroom.  We decided to make it the new TV stand.  Nic would have just put it up front as is but  that wasn't going to work for me.  So with a little bit of work we have a completely transformed new piece of furniture and I love it!

Pinewood Derby...

Last Friday we had a fun ward activity put together by the elders quorum.  We did a pinewood derby.  The only regulations were the size and it had to go by gravity.  There were so many different styles and some very clever ones.  Our favorite was the President Langevelds dually truck pulling a ktm trailer. It was such a great activity with a really good turn out. Some of the members of the elders and bishopric were really getting in to it and were determined to take Nic down from the leader board.  But unfortunately they fell short and none were able to beat his car.  Nic's was the fastest of the night while Payton's car won the most creative.  The kids loved watching their cars race down the track!

Since the derby I've been on a wood kick.  So tonight I made this witch shoe, and hat.  I have taken up a new hobby with our scroll saw!

Days Go By...

There has been so much going on lately but I don't have many pictures to show for it.  I have been busy harvesting our garden.  We ended up getting 4 pumpkins from our pumpkin patch, tons of zucchini, tomatoes, onions, corn, peppers, squash, jalapenos, and squash.  I have done apple sauce, pears, grape juice, and plum jam.  With still so many apples left to juice!  Last Saturday between conference we went to Gardner Village.  This year there weren't many that could come and with it being so early we didn't dress up.  We still had a good time and Payton as usual loved getting her face painted.

Monday I had some of my friends over for lunch and a play date.  This time Keely was able to join us with her sweet 2 week old Katie.  It's so fun to see them all interact with each other.  It's crazy that between the 4 of us girls there are 8 cute little mini's.

This little stud got a much needed haircut!
And on Wednesday we attempted to do Cornbelly's.  We played for about an hour before a storm rolled in.  We decided to get a rain check and went to dinner and Trafalga.  It was so much fun.  Payton had fun laser tagging with us, Nic and I loved it too.  She stayed right by our side and every time she got "shot" she would say, "Oh, dang-it I got shot again".  She also loved the rock climbing wall.  Connor also wanted to do the rock wall and enjoyed it for the most part.
