The Dreadful #2...

Lets just get this out there, Payton does not like going #2.  She will wait til the last possible moment to go.  She cries and yells while going, it's very embarrassing in public. So last night she kept acting like she needed to go so I had her go sit on the potty to try. After 10 min of her yelling, "I don't want to poop." She called out, "MOM." I met her in the bathroom where she then buried her face in her hands and said, "I have lots of things I need to do."  Needless to say she got off the potty after that.  The things kids say just crack me up.

Spring Fever!!!

Last weekend was BEAUTIFUL!!! We spent our entire day outside and loved every minute of it.

We were able to get some of our garden planted.
I can't wait for all of our spring flowers to start blooming, they are all so close.

Our Forcythia bush in full bloom.

Boy Meets Stairs...

In a blink of an eye this kid can be out of your sight and up the stairs.  I wonder how many times he will fall down them to finally learn not to fall down them.
Last Friday was one of those days.  It was his first time falling down the big stairs and he had quite the rug burned face. This is the only picture I got of it though.
The burn went from his forehead to his nose, and was very sad looking.  Later it scabbed over, but luckily it fell off before the doctors so it didn't look like I abuse this poor kid. Yesterday we had his 12 month check up.
Height: 32 in. 95%
Weight 22 lbs. 3 oz. 40%
Head Circumference 49 cm. 97%
The doctor wasn't too thrilled with his weight so we have to go in next month to make sure that he is gaining weight being on solids and whole milk.
After the doctors we drove to Salt Lake to meet Carlin and her kids at Liberty Park for a fun relaxing afternoon.  It was such a beautiful day and the kids loved being with each other outside.  Unfortunately I forgot the sunscreen, so the kids got their first sunburns of the year.
Today Tawna and I were sitting on the front stairs of her house soaking up our Vitamin D when next thing I know Connor's face met the concrete stairs. I was nearly in tears as Connor yet again scraped up his nose and encountered his first bloody nose. I need a helmet for this kid.
Or he needs to spend more time doing this...
 I love my boys!!!
fyi We have purchased a gate to prevent him going up without us knowing.  Hopefully he will conquer them soon.

A New Addition...

Waiting in the waiting room for our sweet little niece to be born.  The boy's were more interested in the game.
Sunday Coul and Kelse had their sweet little baby, Sienna Reese Rich.  She is absolutely beautiful, and the littlest baby I have held! She weighed 6 lb 2 oz and was 18 in. long.  We all just love and adore her!
 Congrats Coul and Kelse!!

One Year...

I have been saying it all day, I can't believe that a year has gone by.  I can't believe that Connor is 1!!! What a year it has been.  I can't imagine life without this sweet boy in it. He has so much energy and 90% of the time has a smile on his face.  I love him so much!!
For his birthday we had the family over for a bit of a different dinner.  In honor of Connor and him not being able to use utensils we all ate our finger food dinner without utensils.  And when I say finger food dinner, I'm talking about spaghetti and green salad.

It's a good thing we all didn't look like this...
Then it was time for the rest of the family and friends to show up for presents and cake and ice cream. He got so many fun gifts that will keep him... and Payton entertained.
I would love to be a good cake decorator, and always have these visions of what my masterpieces are supposed to turn out like, but after yet another cake gone wrong I am thinking it will be a talent that will come to me in the next life!!

It didn't take long for Connor to get into the cake.

It also didn't take him very long to discover he was done...
Happy Birthday little man we love you so much.  A few things that Connor is doing... Yesterday he started climbing up the stairs, he will walk holding onto the couches, when he drops things from off of his tray he says uh-oh. He throws everything! Loves balls especially basketballs. He has started using cars like cars now. He waves hi and bye, if he likes something he will point and grunt.  He loves AJ (my aunt's dog) he loves eating everything, including but not limited to mud, chalk, hair etc... which make for some very interesting diapers. He gives high fives and drools constantly.  He loves his sister even though she picks on him all the time.  One day she will learn, especially since he has started biting.  Don't stick things in his mouth that don't belong!! He is off the bottle and drinking whole milk now out of a sippy cup.  He does use a spoon, but it's usually to bang on his tray with.  We are so happy to have him in our lives and we love him more and more everyday!!

P.S. Thank you family for putting up with my weird idea of eating with our hands, you were all good sports!

Happy 34th Anniversary to my parents! I love them so much and am grateful for all that they do.

Some Outings...

Saturday night we went to Tucanos for dinner.  Mainly to get on their birthday lists so we can eat free in April.
Payton liked eating with the tongs that you grab the meat off with.
 Such a happy boy!!
Monday night my parents took Nic and I to the Jazz game.
I love going to Jazz games especially when they win!! Al Jefferson had a great night with 33 points.  It wasn't until the next day when my mom called to tell me that the night before his grandma had passed away and that he was dedicating this game to her. In the last few seconds of the game he made is first 3 pointer of his career, and was completely surprised that he did.  We wish we would have known this at the game and cheered him on a little more.
Tuesday we went to the Kangaroo Zoo for Cody's Birthday.  I was too busy chatting with my sister-in-laws that I didn't take any pictures of them playing. -oops-
Payton brings up this place every day wanting to go.  We were glad that it was finally time to go again.  She loved every bit of it and talks about it all day.
Last but not least Happy 1st Birthday to our little man!!!
He is so dang sweet, I can't believe a year has gone by!

Revamp...

When I first made my spell-a-bration blocks I didn't know how to do my letters.  I figured I would use stickers, but I couldn't find any that would work. After a lot of searching I finally settled for stamps.  Yes I stamped my blocks.  I have never really loved them, but I do love having something for every holiday.
Yesterday was the day I decided I needed to re-do them.  I have a silhouette which makes doing letters so much more easy!! And now I can say that I love my spell-a-bration blocks!!!

Far Too Long...

I can't remember the last time I did a craft, which is very sad. I love doing them, but haven't had the time, or patience. So yesterday I decided it was time to get crafty.
Something about spring colors that put a smile on my face.
Next up.. revamping my spell-a-bration blocks, they aren't screaming spring to me.

March 5...

March 5.  It's just a date, but it's a date that weighs very heavily on our family.  First it was the date that my aunt was born, then it was the date that my cousin's daughter was born.  Then it became one of the hardest dates on March 5, 2002 when my older brother died from a car accident.  On March 5, 2007 it was the date of Nic and I's first kiss.  Today March 5, 2012 it is still my family members birthdays, and also the 10 year mark of losing my best friend. I miss him more then words could ever possibly say. Today is also the first day of the horrific trial that my aunt has to face.  My aunt has to face the man who murdered her daughter, she has to relive the horrific details of her daughters death.  And today my uncle goes in for a CT scan where we hope they don't find anything wrong.  It's just another day, but it's a day that we will never forget.
My parents were very reluctant and had a hard time parting with some of Gaven's shirts for Joni to make a quilt out of.  None of us could have even imagined how perfect the quilt would turn out.  But once again Joni shared her amazing talents and my parents have a beautiful quilt they can use daily as a reminder of their perfect son and the life he had.

Yesterday we brought up why his favorite shirt wasn't in there.  It was a white fox shirt that he loved wearing and my dad told us it was the shirt that he wore the day of the accident.
