Gnome Wars...

We have been having fun with our little gnomes and I figured we ought to add it to our blog so we can remember what we have done.
You are under arrest. You have the right to remain silent.
Aaron and Tawna later found him in their garden in the tomato cages.
"I hope your gnome can breathe under water wahha ha ha ha"
 "Killer dog under attack"
"WARNING: plastic bags can cause suffocation.  Keep this product and all plastic bags away from babies, gnomes, and children.  Do not permit children or gnomes to play with them."
"You call my garden the 'weed' garden?"
"Who has the weed garden now muah ha ha"
 "Hello"
 "Trader"
 "Your dead to me."

Take Me Out To The Ball Game...

Friday night we took the kid's to the Raptors game! We had a ball! Not that the kids watched much of the game but they had fun being able to run around and eat a snow cone and nachos! Another fun thing is that they won! I love family activities!!

GNO...

I love all of these women more than they will ever know!
Last night we had a girls night out and went to Zupas for dinner and to see "Hope Springs" probably one that I won't recommend to anyone. Though the plot was good there were quite a few risque scenes where you couldn't help but laugh because of the awkwardness of it. Regardless it was a well deserved girls night out!

It's What Fun Is...

Tuesday we went to Lagoon with Nic's family and had an absolute blast.  All of the kids were pretty adventurous and tried all of the rides at least once.  The favorite for the kids was the roller coaster Bombora. It was a decent size roller coaster yet all the kids could go on it.  In fact they went on it 3 times in a row! I had so much fun reliving childhood memories through my own kids. And who knows maybe next year they will be even a little more adventurous!

My Calling...

It took awhile but it finally happened.  I hated not having a calling in our new ward.  Most people would love to have a break with no calling, but not me.  I appreciate the feeling of being wanted. I now feel that I am a part of the ward and not just a visitor.  My new calling is the Beehive Adviser and I am already loving it! I haven't worked with the Beehives yet so it's something new for me.  Speaking with the Bishop he said he knew who he needed to call but sometimes it will take him up to 6 months to fill the position.  Tawna my cousin was put in as the president and again with the way the Lord works all the names that she had matched up with all the names the Bishopric had in mind.  I love when things like that happen it strengthens my testimony and I know with out a shadow of a doubt The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church on this Earth.
It's pretty neat that I get to work with Tawna who I just love so very much.  But the cooler part is that my mom is the 2nd counselor so I am in the Beehives with her! How neat is that! I know I am going to love this calling and I know I am going to love these girls who have so much enthusiasm for young womens.
So on a side note this morning I went out to weed the garden and found a little surprise.
A red hatted gnome... the blue one is in Aaron and Tawna's garden...
It all started about 2 years ago when we were out in the field cooking hobo dinners in the fire pit.  Usually hobo dinners consist of hamburger, onion you know the usual.  Well when Aaron and Tawna unwrapped their dinners they had turkey stakes with all the fixings.  And it was so good! From then on we have always had these competitions on who the better one was and always trying to one up each other in fun ways.  In the mean time Gnomeo and Juliet the movie came out and described us to the T.  So here we are now today with our garden gnomes.  I have a feeling this will be a fun on going adventure on what to do with these gnomes!
By the way our garden is better than theirs! Ü

Weekend...

Friday night we went to my cousins bands pool party and we had a blast! It was so fun to relax by the pool and listen to them play songs while chatting with family and an old friend that I haven't seen since high school.
Payton swam for about 4 hours!

Saturday we spent the day up Spanish Fork Canyon with the Rich Family.  We spent most of the day up there getting... well dirty.  Dirty is a good word to sum up our day...
And to think we thought this was dirty...

 Best Friends...
 In his element...
And Connor joins in on the fun...
Jim and Joni brought up a zip line that the kids had a blast on...
Sienna was all smiles the entire day! Isn't she a doll...

Uncle Sam was so cute to play in the river with the kids.  Funny that the older ones got in their swimsuits and barely put their feet in the water and Connor who wasn't in his swimsuit was playing in waist deep water...

It was very exhausting for the boys...
 Cheesin it for the camera...
Nic and I went on a 4 wheeler ride to see further up the canyon...
And I got stuck wearing this ridiculous "storm trooper" helmet...
This picture is what I would call an epic fail! The moose was looking right at us but the leaves are in the way... oops!

Of course I had to join in on the fun of getting dirty...
We really had a great relaxing day up the canyon.  The kids all got along and were entertained the entire day with their surroundings.  Us adults had so much fun sitting around talking about this and that and just enjoying each others company. Which I loved!

Our Week in Park City...

I left for Park City Monday afternoon during the kids' nap time.  They slept the entire way there which is what I was wanting! All Payton could think about was swimming so you can bet the first thing we did when we got to our condo was swim.  Once the kids started shivering we decided we would go hang out in the hot tub for awhile.  That ended up being the kids' favorite place.

Mom had forgotten to bring her medication that she injects weekly so I brought it up in the cooler when I came.  Well for some reason the cooler opened up and her medication fell out.  We didn't realize it had fallen out until we heard a pop from a golf cart running it over.  He was an employee of the Condo and he felt horrible.  He made sure everything would be alright and that mom could find her medication at a Pharmacy up there.  Well while we were swimming he brought up a package full of goodies and movie rentals which we thought was very sweet putting him above and beyond his duties.
That night we went to a concert held in the park. Then eventually made our way to the park for the kids to play. Payton decided she would be brave and held onto the swing with one hand.  It didn't quite work, she flipped off the swing and landed on her stomach.  Thank goodness she walked away with only a cut finger.
But at this point even s'mores  couldn't put a smile on her face.
While we were in the other room watching the Olympics the kids fell asleep taking up the entire bed.  Thank goodness Payton is a good sleeper so I could move her onto the hide-a-bed.
The next morning we woke up to Hot Air balloons soaring in the valley, mom insisted they were putting on a show for her birthday.
We went on a nice bike ride which was down hill the entire way.  Good thing we drove the Durango to where we were ending or that would have been one heck of an up hill bike ride.

Yummy Birthday Cake and ice cream for mom's birthday!!
Wednesday we went to the Parade of Homes Show.  I love going to these because I love seeing peoples ideas on decorating and other things.  We also surprised Payton by going to the "UP" house that was in last years parade of homes.
This year the parade of homes featured a mansion! It's not every day that you get to walk through a mansion! It was pretty big but I think I would choose some of the other homes we went through instead of this one.
 So excited to wear booties...
 Dancing in the Ballroom...
So if you want to have a home like this you need to be Lionel Richie and Usher's manager.  You also need to be the manager of the Celion Dion Show in Las Vegas and a stage manager for Justin Bieber.  I know this because I asked the owner himself. Ya I'm pretty brave sometimes.
The next morning we went for another bike ride, this one wasn't as easy as the other but it was beautiful and fun.

Then we made our way to the Olympic Park to watch some practice runs of the Ariel Jumps.

Mom and Dad did the zip lines.
Friday we got up with out any plans for the day.  We decided to take a drive up a pass through Deer Valley. The view at the top was beautiful you could see mountain range after mountain range.

We continued down to Brighton Ski Resort just to take a look.  Then we saw a nice boardwalk that went around Silver Lake.  It was BEAUTIFUL!! I was in awe about everything around me.  Especially since people were saying that every day there is a moose that comes down to the lake area.  Of course we wanted to see one.

 And sure enough we did!!

On our way back up the pass we also saw a mom and baby moose...
Friday night Nic finally made it up and I was so happy he did! It had been a long five days with out him and loved that he could come up for a night.  When we were in the condo the Olympics occupied our time which was ok since it started raining pretty hard.  So we all sat around and watched the Olympics.
In the morning we went on the Coaster ride which is my favorite.  I am excited for Lagoon in a few weeks because Payton loved doing it all.

Even the Zip line that they have for kids now.
Since Connor is still too small for the other adventures we bought a few tickets to ride the train and marry-go-round.  They both loved the train until it literally derailed.  And Connor got whiplash and smacked his head.
During the day us girls spent the afternoon shopping while the boys played golf.  It was a long day of shopping trying to find something for me to wear to the wedding.
Once we were all reunited and rejuvenated from our exhausting afternoon we made our way to the Alpine Slides and again Payton loved it! We also swam and went and got ice cream at the Java Cow before leaving to come home.

An accomplishment that we had while gone was Payton finally started swimming with her water wings by herself.  She usually has to be constantly held and would freak out if water splashed her face.  Were still working on the water thing, but that is slowly getting better.  She would swim the length of the pool several times and didn't want us to touch her.  Way to go Peanut!! Sadly I never got a video or picture of her swimming by herself.  This video is of our Noisy Boy who is completely opposite of his big sister.  He has no fear!
