Jackson Hole and Yellowstone...

On Monday I went on a trip up to Jackson Hole with my parents and took the kids.  Nic stayed home and worked.  The week before he had strep so was out of work for a few days so there was no way he could come along.  The trip there was a very wet one.  This was my view for about 2 hours.
After the storm the roads were pretty slick.  The family that was involved in this roll over accident was at A&W with us eating lunch.  I am amazed that they were all alert.  The driver was 87 and he couldn't believe that it happened, he was so mad at himself.  I kept trying to reassure him that it was all right and he is lucky to be up and walking.
Once we reached camp it was time to set up.  Dad told us that a humming bird flew into the durango, sure enough one did.  Poor little guy.

I'm pretty sure this is a once in a life time experience.
Monday night was spent with the Bar J Wranglers.

I love it when granny comes to visit.  Payton and Connor loved it too!

I was the first one up on Tuesday and enjoyed the breathtaking views.  I love this camp ground.

 Skipping rocks with grandpa.

Enjoying the boat ride across Jenny Lake for a hike.

This little guy and me became pretty good friends.

He really liked it when I would make a tunnel for him.

I love these kids.  We sure missed daddy though.

Wednesday we spent an hour in town before we parted ways with my parents.  I was feeling brave and decided I would spend the day in Yellowstone.

We walked around Old Faithful and saw different springs and geysers.  Of course we had to hang around for Old Faithful to go off.

"There she blows"

Then I decided to go all the way to Mammoth.  At this point it was about 6:30 so I called Nic up and told him I would drive until I got tired then just sleep in the car.

We exited West Yellowstone at 10:00 p.m and I got a phone call from my mom and dad making sure I made it home safe.  I told them where I was and my plan and they were not thrilled about it.  So I ended up driving to Rexburg where they were and spent the night in the hotel room with them.  Much better plan, I don't know why I didn't think of it before.  We left this morning and were home by 11:30.  It was such a fun little get away but now I want to get away somewhere fun with Nic and the kids.
