Welcoming Aubrey 10.21.15....

I have become one of those people who just take pictures with their phone.  That being said I am so glad that my Aunt Joni is still a true photographer.  She captured Aubrey's birth beautifully!
My induction was set for 10/21/2015 at 9:00 a.m.  They asked us to call in at 8:00 to make sure we were still good to go.  We called in and got the dreaded news that we would not be able to go in at 9.  We were to call back at 10 and see how things were looking.  That was one of the longest mornings ever! At 10 we got the news that we would be able to go in at 11:30! Happy day... but still a long ways away! After getting to the hospital and getting all checked in we were finally in our room by 12:39.  It was now time to get my IV and start on my meds.  Forty-five minutes later my IV was in.  They first attempted on my left wrist, didn't work.  Then they tried my right, it was ok to get enough blood, but not ok for my IV.  Finally they went back to my left hand and had no problem there.  Third times a charm I guess.  I had to be on penicillin for 4 hours before they would come in and break my water.  So here we were waiting again! Finally at 5:39 Dr. Davis came in and broke my water.  Now I would start to progress! At 7:26 I was at a measly 4 and about 60% thinned and was done with the pain.  The anesthesiologist came to the rescue and at 7:52 gave me my epidural.  All those times I thought I could handle the pain quickly diminished.  I am all about the epidural! Finally I was able to relax and cruise through the contractions at ease.  Around 8:40 I was at a 6 and 70%.  Shortly after I told my nurse that my contractions were hurting and that I felt a lot of pressure.  She continued to work at the computer and said she would check me in a little bit.  I again complained and she checked me and quickly told me not to sneeze, laugh, or cough.  She said that she did not want to deliver the baby.  I went from a 6 and 70% to a 10 and +3 in about 20 minutes.  I went into a bit of shock and was shaking uncontrollably.  Dr. Housel arrived and in the middle of a contraction asked me to push.  I pushed and she crowned.  He said that the next contraction we would be having a baby.  Sure enough with one last big push at 9:24 p.m. Aubrey was here.  She was perfect!

 And then there were 5...
Connor was so tired, he just couldn't take it any longer..
Payton was in absolute Heaven.  These pictures are my favorite...

Being a big brother is exhausting...

"I've been curled up in a ball for 9 months, this is great!"

In the middle of the night when things had calmed down, Nic was asleep and nurses left me alone for a bit I was able to take it all in.  This was our beautiful perfect baby girl sent to us straight from Heaven just hours ago.  My heart grew and I loved this little bit of Heaven in my arms.  This was the moment that I will cherish forever!

 We love you baby girl!

7 lbs. 2 oz  20 1/2 in.

I'm too cheap to buy the hospital pictures, but I kinda liked these 3.  Just not enough to pay $360! So we will recreate them during her newborn pictures.

 Time to go home...

Just in time for a Halloween party with our ninja, owl, and Maleficent..

Things are going well as a family of 5.  I am healing slowly.  When Aubrey was born her head and elbow came out at the same time so I tore pretty badly.  Other then that pain everything is going well.  We all love this sweet little spirit and are happy to have her in our home.
