I Knew It Was Coming...

Last night Connor finally decided to stay up on his hands and knees and start crawling!!! He is the cutest boy ever! I love being able to be here for each new milestone he goes through! Payton and Connor had both Nic and I laughing so hard, they would both get the giggles every time Connor would follow after Payton.  There is something so sweet about a child's laugh that you can't help but laugh yourself.  These two will be the best of friends and I am so grateful for both of them!

Big Boy...

I can't believe that my baby boy is getting so big! I swear he has gained 5 lbs. just this week.  It's been awhile since I have had an update on him so here it goes.  He still isn't crawling but gets around everywhere by rolling.  Tuesday was the first time that he went from his belly to sitting up, and now he is a champ at it.  He gets on his hands and knees and crawls backwards and will start to move forward then drop down to the army crawl. It's just a matter of time before he starts getting around everywhere... quicker.  He is still the happiest most chill boy and loves anyone he comes in contact with.  His two bottom teeth have come through now and he loves rubbing his tongue on them.  He constantly drools because of it... nothing new he has always been slobbery.  I can't get enough of this little boy and really am blown away with how fast the time has gone.  He will be one before I know it, and it kinda makes me sad.

Fun Days...

The other day during Connor's nap Payton and I went out and played in the snow.  She absolutely loved it! She loved throwing snowballs at me, eating the snow, and making snow angels.

Yesterday we went to the zoo... Who thinks to go to the zoo in the middle of winter??? Well when it's free you can bet that Carlin and I do!! It was such a beautiful day and felt so nice to be out and about with the sun beating down on us. For it being a free day it was probably the least crowded I have ever seen it.  It wasn't until we were leaving that everyone was showing up.  I guess those are the pros to not having kids in school yet.

Yesterday was one of the funnest times I have ever had at the zoo.  The kids were so happy and enjoyed every bit of it, the air was brisk but the heat from the sun made it perfect.  I spent 5 hours talking with Carlin about everything going on in life.  I love her so much and am so glad that I am so close to her. I also love how well our kids get along together.  I love having her around and being able to talk to her about everything and anything.  She got me so excited for upcoming events I can hardly stand it!!! Happy Chinese New Year...

Last night we went over to the Loveland's home to celebrate Chinese New Year with Zack and Li Mei.  The traditions that they have are so neat and interesting! They had the traditional snacks that they eat which are candies, oranges, pistachios (Happy Nut), and peanut cookies. They have a tradition with red packets that they give to kids and single people on New Years.  The packets contain money that wish you a prosperous year. It was fun to learn more about Li Mei's culture. Kung Hei Fat Choy Happy Chinese New Year, the year of the dragon!

MLKD...

Yesterday we went down to Salt Lake to see the University of Utah's new Natural History Museum.  I was impressed the entire time, it was so cool.  The way they had everything displayed was incredible they had things throughout the entire building that are enjoyable for any age!  Payton could have spent all day catching fish with a net.
They had a couple of areas where you would walk on a glass floor.
 Digging for bones
 Well set up displays
My two cuties in a hole

Connor kept trying to pet the wolf

It will be fun to go when Connor is more mobile I think he will enjoy it a lot!!!

Weber State Game...

Saturday night we were able to go to the Weber State Basketball game with my parents.  It was a great game to be at, we sat on the 3rd row, not bad for free! As an appreciation to the Ogden City Law Enforcement and those who work for the City they gave free tickets to Thursday night and Saturday nights game.
I really slacked with getting a picture of Connor taking it all in.  He was on cloud 9! Basketball is for sure his thing.  He was laughing and babbling while watching the players run up and down the court. When they played music he was up and dancing and clapping when everyone else would clap it was the cutest thing.  Of course when his bed time came around he was out!
This could be one of my new favorite pictures of Nic....
mmmm.. yup!
Payton was more excited for it to be over.  She thought it was a bit loud.  Where did she come from???? jk She did enjoy it just was very tired!

Come Together...

Our stake was asked to hold flags from 18th to12th street for the precession line for the funeral of Jared Francom, an officer who was killed last week. I can't express the emotions that were felt.  It was such a neat experience, but one that I hope to be a once in a lifetime event.
It was hard not to shed any tears seeing how the community came together to honor someones life.

We stood for 45 minutes watching the precession line and ended up leaving before it was done do to tired cold kids.  I had no idea there were so many policemen! The support of the officers alone was amazing! There were several from Idaho Falls, Boise, Wyoming and pretty much any city in Utah.
Payton gave in and fell asleep all bundled up on the sidewalk.  My sweet little homeless child!

Happy New Year...

And what a happy new year it has been... mainly because Connor is finally out of our bedroom and in a room of his own!  Nic and I are in heaven, it's so nice to be able to go into our room and turn on our light without the worry of waking Connor up.  The transition was very easy Connor sleeps like a champ and wakes up happy every morning!
His first night in his new blue room was New Years Eve/ New Years Day.
New Years Eve was spent playing games and eating way to much food at my parents house.

I have never been big on making resolutions, I have never known what to do and I know you can make new goals year round.  But this year I did set some new goals and I hope to stick with them.  This is also my first year of wanting to lose weight and be more fit.  Between both Nic and I we want to lose 50 lbs. Sounds like a lot, but split between the two of us I think we can do it! We are also playing the Biggest Loser with the Field family. Wish us luck! I also want to be a better mom, have more patience, read and study my personal scriptures and keep a private journal on that, I also want to work harder in my calling!
New Years morning Connor's first tooth started to bud and today the one has come through and the second is close!
With the new year comes the new semester up at Weber State.  And for this whole semester I will be watching Aaron and Tawna's kids in the morning/ afternoon.  Which really is no big deal.  Payton and Weston do their own thing and Katelynn and I play games!

We celebrated my dad's and Maddie's birthdays last week and enjoyed eating lots of cake, ice cream, and pie! (Don't worry I will lose weight.... somehow!)
Last Saturday I spent the day with my sister-in-law Camie while the boys went riding before the extended Rich family Christmas party.  During this time we went on a mouse hunt! I saw on one of my friend's blog that for a white elephant gift they gave a white mouse.  I just had to do it.  When checking out at Petco I learned that I needed to say it was for food and not a pet because they wouldn't let me buy it without buying a home for it.  Forget that!!! We ended up going to some nasty little pet shop and they gave one to me with out any questions.  He gave it to me in a Chinese take-out box.  It was the grossest thing ever!
 Everyone's reactions were awesome!!

While cutting holes for that rodent to breathe out of, I about cut the tip of my finger off! And man does it hurt!
Day 1
 Day 3
Even though I cut through half of my fingernail, the nail is what saved it from being sliced right off. Other than the finger thing we have had a great start to the new year! And we are happy to finally have the snow to make it feel more like winter!
