Cancun Day 3...

Started off bright and early so that we could catch the sunrise.  The sunrise was at 6:11 every morning as you can tell I was pretty tired.  After the sunrise we got ready for our excursion to Chichen Itza.  We booked our excursion through Alma's LDS Tours do to others canceling it ended up just being Nic and I on the tour and it was awesome! We learned more than I could ever explain about the ruins and the relation to the Book of Mormon.  Turns out those Mayan's were pretty smart and have everything correct.  The whole thing about the Mayan calender ending on December 21 of this year is the end of their calender but it's the start of the fire cycle which can last up to 56 years.  So it's not necessarily that the world will end on the 21 its just the start of the last cycle before KuKulKan (white bearded God) will come back to the earth.  Which we all know will happen soon.  All of the Mayan's divided there lands and structures into 3 different areas, the Celestial, Terrestrial and Telestial everything was very symbolic and just put us in awe.  We were able to feel the Spirit at parts of the tour which was incredible.  This excursion was the highlight of the trip for me.  After the ruins we went to a buffet at a Hacienda and the food was awesome.  They cook their pork in pits just like the Polynesians only they cover the pork in Banana leaves which gave it a very yummy flavor. After eating we went and swam in a Cenote (mouth of whale).  There were Cenote's all over the place but this one was made public so we could swim in it.  It was BEAUTIFUL... a little on the creepy side because of the black cat fish that were swimming around but other than that amazing! We then went on a little tour into town.  All of the homes in town were mainly cement walls with hammocks hanging.  Very simple... made me grateful for what I have. After our tour we finished the night with watching what we could of the sunset. The sunset at 7:36 every night and the temperature never seemed to change.

Happy Anniversary babe!!! I can't believe we have been married 5 years.  We have had great things happen to us in 5 years.  And we had some very incredible experiences on our trip together celebrating our anniversary.  I love you so much and am grateful for you.
